Conservation Ontario – Flood Risk Management in Ontario
Course Description
This course, developed by Conservation Ontario and offered through IBAO, introduces P&C Brokers to foundational information and resources about flood and erosion risk issues, and how these are managed across Ontario. This single course, separated into 2 modules, will provide relevant information from research and case studies about how to mitigate flood risk through descriptions collected by Conversation Ontario. In turn, this increased knowledge of flood and erosion risks in Ontario, along with improved awareness of how to access key resources, will enable Brokers to better support their clients who may have questions about the risks of flood and erosion in their area. This course may also serve as the foundation from which Brokers can continue their own additional research by accessing resources introduced here. This way, Brokers can become competent in clarifying the important role that Conservation Authorities in Ontario play in reducing flood and erosion risks.
