New Broker Essentials: Version 1: For the New Broker

This eLearning course will help bridge that gap between “Newly RIBO Licensed” and “Working Broker”. New brokers need to be exposed to practical day to day tasks. Each module includes examples of the actual forms, systems and process examples that new brokers will need.

New brokers must be prepared to be thrust into decision-making responsibilities from day one. This course will allow them to practice more self-direction, and learn about what lies ahead. New brokers will better understand:
– Industry insider acronyms
– Common systems used by brokers (eg a Broker Management System) Third party forms (eg CSIO)
– Workflows (how to pull an auto plus report)

For example – how to you get an auto insurance quote for a customer? This course will teach a new broker how.

Completed online and at their own pace over the 60 days of access, this course will help fill that skills gap across 5 areas;

Brokerage Systems 101

This unit’s focus is on Brokerage Systems, or what computer systems are most common in brokerages.

AutoPlus & MVR 101

AutoPlus is made by CGI and is the largest database of automobile policy and claims information in Canada. MVR stands for “Motor Vehicle Report” check or “Motor Vehicle Record” check and is a part of the background screening process of a potential auto client

HITS 101

This unit’s focus is on the property reporting tool known as Habitational Insurance Tracking System.

Working with your Underwriter 101

This unit’s focus is on the soft skills of building or, in some cases, maintaining a professional relationship with your Brokerage’s Underwriter(s).

Handling Customers 101

This unit’s focus is on the soft skills of dealing with customers in a few common situations.
