Make an Impact — IBAO Board Opportunities

We’re seeking passionate leaders who believe in IBAO’s purpose, are eager to share their expertise, and want to give back and learn from the industry. As a Board Member, you’ll stay closely connected to industry developments, help drive meaningful change and collaborate with fellow industry leaders to strengthen Ontario’s broker channel. We’re currently recruiting three new Directors to join our Board for a three-year term beginning this spring.
Opportunities
Skills Based Director (Ontario-based) — ideal candidates bring expertise in corporate governance and market strategy, with demonstrated experience as a senior executive or leader within a large corporate environment, or as a brokerage owner.
Territory Director, Eastern Ontario — ideal candidates bring broad industry and market knowledge, supported by a strong understanding of the unique challenges and needs within your Territory. Commercial or Personal expertise is required, prior board or governance experience within the local community or industry is considered an asset.
Territory Director, Toronto/York/Peel — ideal candidates bring the same experience and expertise as above (Territory Director, Eastern Ontario)
Requirements
IBAO Member in good standing
RIBO Licensed
The endorsement of your Principal (for applicants who aren’t Principal Brokers)
Application Process
Interested Skills Based Directors should email Colin Simpson by February 28th. Interested Territory Directors should email their Affiliate President by March 2nd. Please include:
An outline of your skill set and experience
A brief explanation of your interest in the role
For Skills Based Directors, interviews will be scheduled as necessary, and the selected candidate will be chosen by IBAO’s Board of Directors.
For Territory Directors, please send your submission, signed by at least five members from the Territory nominating you, to your Affiliate President. Should more than one candidate apply, a Territory election will be called.
